Houses per Utopium

1.      RDL has adjusted the plans originally developed for homes designed for living, working, studying and enjoyment.

2.      RDL has already planned three types of houses: a) a houses (pronounced Alpha) designed to house one or two people, b) b houses (pronounced Beta) designed to house up to four persons and c) c houses (pronounced Gamma) designed to house up to 6 persons.  Each is equipped for people to live, work, study and enjoy life, in it. Based on 50% as as with a capacity of 2 people each, 30% as bs with 4 people and 20% as cs with 6 people, and full occupancy, to accommodate 50K people, requires 25,000 units, or 17,917 houses. This divides up as 12,500 as, 3750 bs and 1667 cs.   The minimum floor space, without expansion, is 160 square feet/person, totalling 8000k square feet. With full expansions, the maximum is 12,825k. Quadrupling the maximum ground required, to allow for all other requirements on the site, means 51,300k square feet.  One acre = 43 560 square feet, so the 1178 acres are required, a little less than two square miles (1280 acres).  If available, an equal, adjacent amount can be reserved for further expansions over the next 100 years.

3.      RDL converted the areas to square meters to compare with Masdar, planned for 6 million square meters. One square foot = .09290 meters, so our 51,300k square feet = 4,765,770 square meters. Thus, Masdar is 25% larger then our Utopium Alpha, but includes water desalination facilities, as well as the solar based electricity generation plant to generate all the energy needed to build it, apparently without any allowance for electricity created by houses.
